自從認識男友之後，我也忙著工作、忙著在英格蘭探險，加上同學們畢業後四散飄蕩，留在蘇格蘭的大多是醫師難喬假期，我也只有回來蘇格蘭兩次。男友一直對我的印象是漂泊世界的獨行俠，剛交往的時候還千交代萬交代說他很喜歡邀請親友來家裡玩，我還很納悶他葫蘆裡再賣什麼藥。雖然我說我在蘇格蘭也有很多朋友，男友一直不相信我。
我們說好夏天去拜訪蘇格蘭，從希臘回來後就馬上計劃，他完全把行程交給我規劃，也一直搞不清楚我要和誰見面。
我在值夜班時沒有休息，回到家把乾淨的衣服丟到行李箱就開始上路。這是我們第一次從倫敦Luton轉搭廉價飛機，一路上交通還算順利，只是Easyjet再度誤點，缺乏睡眠的我開始發大小姐脾氣，男友就負責安撫我。我開始亂唱歌保持清醒，結果還比男友早看到登機門開放。十分諷刺的是，飛機行程只有短短的50分鐘，我們卻等了幾小時。抵達Glasgow的時候天氣晴朗，只是風大，想要避暑的男友高興得不得了。
我在大學時期的好友都結婚生女囉，這次的行程就是去看她們的寶寶。兆君和寶明的女兒已經十一個月，看到我們也不怕生，還很快樂地拔我的絲襪，沿著我和男友學走路，真是可愛。Alyson的小女兒有美麗的藍眼睛，超愛給人抱，希望她快快長大。我們也和大學裡的台灣同學碰面，也有和Sam、Wilma、Jolie和Holly聚會。男友很驚訝我交友之廣，各年齡層各行各業都有，而很納悶我為何離開蘇格蘭。要是我沒有離開蘇格蘭，怎麼會和男友相遇呢？
男友終於體會，我不是自願要當獨行俠的，當好友一個個都找到歸宿，我也堅持寧缺勿濫的理念，而慢慢地學會一個人生活、一個人探險。去年我還一個人回蘇格蘭流浪，把心裡的思緒整理了一番。今年我卻意外地多了男友，我是多麼的幸運？
我帶著男友上蘇格蘭高原之旅，聽到Elton John年輕時候的嗓音，原來是這麼的清澈。男友年輕的時候也很迷Elton John的音樂，我笑說和我不同年代。
感謝你，也和我一樣決定離開身邊的一切前往倫敦重新出發，讓我有機會認識你；感謝你，包容我所有的缺陷；感謝你，收起你的壞脾氣，從以前冷戰兩個月到這次鬧彆扭兩小時；感謝你，對我默默的卻持久的愛。
