Well.....I should not have said it earlier. I still have not internet access at home and I cannot check emails at work. I guess it is time that I should stay away from internet ^^
I am still trying to find my feet in London. Colleagues at work are not very friendly. I take it as the worse form of the White Tower. Scotland is a very friendly place to work in. You just had to work overtime and underpaid there.
I went to Royal Free Hospital for a joint teaching this afternoon. University College Hospital, Whittington and Royal Free are in the same trust. But Royal Free cooperates with Whittington for staff teaching. I have to say teaching in London is far better than what I had in the last 8 years. Guess what? I met two people at the teaching. I met them both at the interview at Royal Free! The Romanian woman who did not know anything when I spoke to her the last time, HAS LANDED HERSELF A JOB AT THE ROYAL FREE! OMG! I thought they only advertised for a post but obviously there are more than one post available. The Romanian woman told me that they are still short of one staff! My God! I am so glad that I took Whittington. I spoke to the doctors who interviewed me and still provided support for me. I am so glad that they are so nice. Well, I know I am stressed to get everything perfect from the start but I can never do so.
Other updates about my life. Got my hair cut to shoulders at a Japanese salon. I cannot believe how fast it has grown. With 35 pounds I got it cut, wash and blowdry with head and back massage. So lovely! I have also made a few friends via Xinyi. My Singaporean accent returned in front of them. There are also lots of lovely restaurants and cafes. One day I was quite stressed at work so walked to a nice Japanese restaurant and had the best sashimi I have ever had. I also went to watch "the Dark Knight" alone at a nearby cinema. It costs me 9.50! It only has a small dirty screen, smelly seats and poor sound effects. Well, I used to live in the heavenly inexpensive Glasgow.....Apparently if I want to go to a big screen in London, it will cost me 20 pounds. No way I am wasting that money unless I go mad.
As I walked towards the cybercafe, I have been thinking of you. The moon is so bright tonight. It is nearly mid-Autumn! Leaves are already falling. How have you been? You have been so supportive. I feel that I am in a dream....Hope I will never wake up ^^
