跨到對街來到猶太區，有許多美麗的羊腸小徑
Across the street lies the Jewish Quarter. There are many unique passages.

當然也有破舊不堪的小徑Of course there were shoddy passages, too.

前往猶太墓園的路上都是高級住宅呢！這一間還有大衛之星！
On the way to the Jewish Cemetery, the district was full of posh house. This one even has Stars of David!

當我抵達葬禮禮拜堂，天空開始下起了大雨。墓園好像沒有開放.....我詢問蹓狗的小姐入口和開放時間，她也搞不清楚，建議我去找住在墓園旁的管理員看看。
When I arrived at the Funeral Hall, it was raining cats and dogs. The cemetery seemed to be closed.....I asked a lady who was walking her dog. She was uncertian and asked me to speak to the caretaker who lived next to the cemetery.

『Dobrý Den』我有一點不好意思地敲著管理員的家，指著隔壁的墓園。
管理伯伯很熱心，拿著鑰匙跑出來開門，用著破破的英文和我哈啦。
我也快樂地回答，我是台灣人，我講英文嘛通。
伯伯指著高牆上的說明〈週六不開放〉，我拿著旅遊簡介，上面明明說每天都開放
"Dobrý Den" I knocked on his door appoligically and pointed at the graveyard. Uncle caretaker took out his keys without asking and tried to chat with me friendly with his limited English vocabuary. I was quite happy to tell him that I was from Taiwan and could speak English. He pointed at the "Close on Saturday" sign high up on the wall. I also showed him the tourist guide which said that it was open daily!

伯伯還是幫我開了門，拿另一份英文簡介給我，這時候一對夫妻也隨著我進入墓園。
He still opened the door for me and gave me another English guide. Just then, another courple also followed me into the cemetery.

這是全捷克保持最完整也是最大的猶太墓園
This was the most well-kept and largest Jewish Cemetery in the Czech Republic

它一點都不會令人感到毛骨悚然，伯伯的家就在後面
It did not feel creepy at all. Mr Caretaker lived behind.

這裡有很多巴洛克和新經典式的墓碑
There were many Baroque and Neo-classical tombstones.

一共有11000座墳墓A total of 11,000 graves

我走下山坡來到猶太區的入口，此猶太區可算是全歐洲保持最好的一座，沒有被第二次世界大戰摧毀。它也是除了以色列之外被列為世界遺蹟的唯一一座猶太區。
I walked down the hill towards the entrance of the Jewish Quarter. It was the most well-maintained one in Europe, not destroyed by WWII. It was also the only Jewish Quarter enlisted by the UNESCO outside Israel.

Leopolda Pokorneho街二號：它之前是猶太區的大門，在夜晚、週末和假期都會緊關大門
No 2, Leopolda Pokorneho Street: It used to be the gate of Jewish Quarter. At night, in the weekend and on holidays, it would be shut.

Leopolda Pokorneho街五號：單柱建築是猶太區大戶人家的住處，樓下即是店面
No 5. Leopolda Pokorneho Street: This single-column corner house was typical of a rich Jewish house. The ground floor was used as a shop or workplace.

街角的趣味塗鴉An interesting grafiti around the corner.

前方舊猶太教堂，也稱做舊學校，現在變成胡斯教堂。那頑皮的壁畫也在偷看喔
Front Old Synagogue, also known as the old school, is now used by the Hussite church. You can see the grafiti peeking through the lane.

住在對面的是猶太教季斯的家Opposite lived the house of the Rabbi.

還是很有原味的街道A lane with original atmosphere.

街角也有大衛之星There was a star of David around the corner.

貧苦之家被分為好幾戶，這是以前的慈善住家，收留窮人
Poorhouse was divided into several houses and was used as a charity house to host the poors.

兩隻可愛的狗狗Two cute dogs.

後方猶太教堂旁即是遊客中心 Next to the Rear Synagogue was the tourist information centre.

猶太教堂裡有漂亮的壁畫There were beautifully restored frescos in the synagogue.

Leopolda Pokorneho街25號：它有巴洛克的中心，懸臂樑式的陽台，正面有皇家裝飾、棕梠葉和半露方柱門窗邊框。金屬大門還可以套上木板對抗洪水。有一位退役軍人Leopold Pokorny 曾住在此屋，所以街名也冠上他的名字。
No 25, Leopolda Pokorneho Street: The house had a Baroque core, a balcony on stone cantilevers, an Empire facade with pilasters, palmette decoration and figuration. A metal-sheathed door contains grooves to put boards to prevent floodwater. A Czech legionnaire named Leopold Pokorny lived in the house, and the street bears his name.

這裡是以前的大眾通道，我提起勇氣走了進去，卻不小心走到一位吉普塞人的家，把他嚇了一跳，我也嚇了一跳！哈！
This used to be the public passage. I brought up my courage and stepped in but accidentally walked into a house of a gypsy. I gave him a fright but I was shocked, too!Ha!

從猶太區跨過小橋來到鎮中心，回頭一望發現大教堂在不遠處
I walked on the bridge towards the town centre from the Jewish Quarter. I looked back and found the Basilica not so far behind.

遊客中心其實也是一座古蹟，我和小姐問下一班公車的時間，就不小心聊了起來。她說最近遇到很多台灣人像我一樣一個人或兩人結伴一起來玩，原來這個世界還有這麼多旅人，哪一天我將會遇到你呢？
The tourist information centre was also a piece of art itself. I went to ask the receptionist for the bus timetable and started chatting with her. She told me that she had met a few Taiwanese tourists who travel alone or by two recently. It seemed that there were a few of the wanderers like me around. When would I meet you?

特熱比奇真的是蕭條的一個工業小鎮，星期六竟然連一家商店都沒有開，連餐廳也只有一所。不過它的合樂氣氛真是給我意外的感動，我依依不捨地離開了。
Třebíč was really a small and rundown industrialised town. Even on Saturday, no shops were open and there was only one restaurant! However it did give me a surprise to see the harmany in the society. I was reluctant to leave it.
